Oil & Gas Drilling Regulations Status 11-04-2008 Since last spring, Town staff has been researching the methods used in area cities to regulate oil and gas well drilling within their communities. Town staff has also received input from oil and gas industry professionals regarding the municipal drilling regulations they operate under in various communities.
Staff presented a proposed oil and gas drilling ordinance framework to the Town Council at a public information meeting held on November 11th. This meeting also provided an opportunity to receive input from the Westlake community. Town staff will utilize the input received at the meeting when drafting the ordinance to be considered by the Town Council for formal approval.
